Today was a scorcher, followed by a nice summer rain. Okay more like tropical rainforest thunderstorm. The power still has not come back on. It’s like living back in the olden days or something. It has been a relaxing day at home, no dish washer going, no washing machine, no television blaring, but most importantly there is no internet! Peaceful. But then I realize I have two papers and a test to turn in by midnight… which is why I am here… here as in Starbucks! Starbucks is a magical place I tell you. Watching so many fellow coffee lovers (like myself) travel in and out. And then there are the people on their laptops. I wonder if they are doing homework too, or blogging or maybe facebook stalking? Coffee shops fascinate me. Coffee is simply the most delicious treat man has ever created, and then you mix laptops and music in the mix! Ahh! It’s the simple things in life that make me happy.

Finding a new OPI nail color that makes me happy every time I look down at my nails (currently Barefoot in Barcelona)
The ease of your mascara gliding on your eyelashes right after a shower
Finding a great book to read for the summer (and finishing it)
Discovering US Weekly in my mailbox
Getting a random written letter in the mail from a good friend
Going for a morning run
Pouring the first cup of coffee from the coffee pot in the early morning
Laughing so hard that I snort (yes I snort)
Gold! Gold watch, Gold purse, Gold rings, Gold bracelets, Gold swimsuits!
